Gallop Credenza

DSCN1123-2_edited_edited.jpg

Sculptural storage defined by carved surfaces and controlled movement.

The Gallop Credenza is a sculptural storage cabinet developed as a fully resolved design, not an open-ended custom concept.

Carved from solid walnut and shaped entirely by hand, the piece balances quiet flat planes with deep, flowing relief—allowing areas of carving to carry visual weight while surrounding surfaces provide restraint.

The carving references motion rather than imagery. Subtle, dimpled textures emerge within select areas of the surface, abstractly recalling dust suspended in the air around a galloping horse.

Movement is held in stillness—the character of the piece shifting as light and perspective shift.

This interplay between motion and restraint defines the piece, allowing carved surfaces to remain expressive without overwhelming the overall form.

Designed to function fully as storage while standing on its own as a focal object, the Gallop Credenza is suited to residential and architectural interiors where material presence and proportion matter as much as utility.
