Overview
The Mirage Side Table explores the relationship between structure and softness.
A continuous, flowing pedestal supports a restrained, softly contoured top—creating a sense of visual lightness and long-term stability.
Designed as a fully resolved, repeatable object, Mirage is built one at a time using solid walnut, shaped and finished by hand in the studio.
Form & Surface
The surface and structure are developed through progressive shaping rather than mechanical profiling.
Subtle transitions between planes allow the grain to remain continuous across the form, with edges softened by hand to preserve clarity and tactility.
Natural variation in color and figure is embraced as part of each piece’s character.
Pairing & Scale
Mirage is proportioned to work comfortably as a single accent table or as a paired element alongside seating.
Matched pairs are built sequentially to maintain consistent scale and visual balance, while allowing for natural material variation.
Process & Development
Each Mirage begins as a hand-developed drawing, refined through physical prototyping.
The pedestal is laminated, carved, and blended to achieve structural integrity and visual continuity. Final shaping and finishing are completed entirely in-house in the Texas workshop.
This process allows the design to remain consistent while retaining the nuance of handwork.
