Sable Side Table
Sable is a solid walnut and steel side table designed for everyday storage, charging, and long-term use.
Overview
Sable was developed to keep the tabletop clear while accommodating the objects that collect around seating and beds. An open upper bay provides space for charging devices, books, and daily items, while a full-depth drawer below offers concealed storage.
The negative space extends to the rear, allowing cables to exit cleanly without disrupting the form.
Form & Structure
The cabinet volume is lifted on a welded steel base, creating visual balance between the storage mass and open space below. The height of the base mirrors the drawer proportion to maintain a stable, grounded presence.
Steel, walnut, and hardware elements are aligned along shared horizontal lines, reinforced through concealed joinery. This proportional discipline gives the piece its quiet, architectural character.
Materials & Finish
Each table is constructed from carefully selected American walnut, chosen for clarity and natural variation without leaning rustic. The steel base and custom-fabricated pull are hand-blued and sealed with a protective lacquer, preserving depth and tone.
Surfaces are finished using a multi-step, furniture-grade system developed in-house for residential use.
Natural grain and color variation are expected and celebrated.
